The Lockdown mums course

hosted by anna mathur

Anna Mathur is an accredited Psychotherapist, mum of 3, and author of Times Bestselling book ‘Mind over Mother – Every Mum’s guide to worry and anxiety in the first years’.

Anna will be discussing tips, tools and techniques to address the common mental health challenges that mums face in the early weeks and months. All in the light of the added complexities that come with navigating early motherhood through a pandemic.

Covering a wide range of topics, from mum guilt and loneliness, through to intrusive thoughts and feeling touched-out, overwhelmed and under-supported.

Mothers of young babies have less access to support than ever. At such a life-changing time, they have less contact with health visitors, friends and family and more waiting times for mental health support.

A weekly live webinar

Live webinars will cover various topics, including a 20 minute dedicated question time at the end.

If you can’t make the live webinars, you will be able to access them at another time, but won’t be able to ask questions. Webinars will be accessible until November 30th 2020.

ANYONE can sign up for the webinars at any point until November 30th 2020.

Midwives, GP’s, mothers of multiples, pregnant women, fathers, and parents of teens have all expressed interest in joining. However, all content and questions answered will be specifically geared towards the challenges of navigating mothering of a baby under 12 months through the pandemic.

If for any reason I cannot record the webinar at the scheduled time, I will let you know, and will record it as close to the scheduled time as possible.

I am not sure. I felt a real passion and need to produce something specifically for those who are navigating the post-natal period during such an unpredictable and uncertain time. There has been very minimal professional support, social opportunities, and contact available for women, so I wanted to use my professional experience as a Psychotherapist, and my personal experience as a mum of three to help equip and encourage fellow mothers.

Each of the four webinars will end with a 20-minute Q&A time. There will be a function within the webinar web page that will allow attendees to ask questions, and I will try my best to get through as many relevant and general questions as possible in that time.

Please note, ethically I cannot diagnose or offer very specific mental health advice in such context. I will do my best to respond to questions in a way that will benefit numerous attendees. If you are looking for specific advice from me, please see my website to book a 1-2-1 telephone session, or speak to a GP or therapist.
